Wind energy is delivering for regional communities. In our updated Building Stronger Communities report, we delve into the benefits wind energy is providing:

  • In the past five years wind energy has provided an economic boost of $5.1 bil to regional areas, with a further $4.8 bil still to come.
  • With the boom of renewable energy investment, jobs in wind energy have tripled in the past 2 years.

Sadly, due to a vacuum of federal government energy policy, investment in renewables has collapsed 60 per cent in 2019.

Federal ministers: we cannot allow renewable energy investment to collapse further due to a vacuum of energy policy. You must take action now and:

  1. Support the underwriting of transmission capacity to open up new Renewable Energy Zones (REZs),
  2. Allocate more funding to the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), and
  3. Modernise the electricity market to efficiently handle high concentrations of renewable energy
